Compromise is easy, for there is little immediate
pain involved – just the ultimate consequences of sin that will require due
payment. However, when temptation comes and we suffer through it, we are
behaving like our Lord. And, with the temptation comes the same power which Jesus'
overcame His temptations.
Don't let the devil lie to you and say that Jesus
had it any easier. Philippians chapter two tells us that Jesus emptied Himself
of God, taking on a sinless human nature, therefore subjecting Him to the same
sufferings that we go through.
May we draw upon Christ's victory over sin in our
own lives, knowing we have been identified with Him in His glorious triumph!
