Ancient Paths

Jeremiah 6:16 - Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. (KJV)

Are we humble enough to stand "by the ways" that others have walked before us and take instruction? This might be possibly looking to those in our past who have lived with great peace because of the fear of the Lord upon their lives. They have lived in the tradition of the Bible and did not attempt to make it fit their lives, but instead humbled themselves to live according to God's ways.

Beloved, if we will first observe the right way to go, and then walk in it, we will then know peace. Rightness of soul does not come by merely seeing and asking, but by doing. May we all walk in the richness of God's unchanging wisdom, for in it are the paths of peace.
